The Prescott-Russell Stewardship Council

The Prescott-Russell Stewardship Council (PRSC) is part of the Ontario Stewardship Program.  The Council is made up of volunteers who are foresters, woodlot owners, farmers, naturalists, business persons and educators from Prescott-Russell.

Our Mission is to promote the wise use of lands to ensure the sustainability of our natural resources.

The Council's objective is to represent landowners and other special interest groups in the United Counties of Prescott-Russell, to facilitate the wise use of natural resources.  We give priority to projects dealing with forestry, water (wetlands, rivers and streams), wildlife habitat and soils.

To accomplish this objective, the Council will:

Coordinate projects that promote sustainable management of lands and which benefit landowners and special interest groups that use natural resources.

Collaborate with other community organizations.

Promote a natural and healthy environment through education, partnerships, communication and demonstration sites.

Actively pursue sponsorship opportunities to fund local projects.
